Your role as the Oracle DBA will involve working as part of the infrastructure team providing database administration support in an n-Tier environment. This will include planning/performing major installations, implementing major systems, implementing high-level security, preparing procedures, monitoring managing and maintaining databases, tuning/optimising databases and responsibility for backup and recovery.
Ideally you will have experience in the following:
An extensive knowledge of the Oracle 10g RDBMS
Knowledge of Oracle database implementations on a Unix operating system
A deep understanding and working knowledge of Oracle spatial and context searching
Experience working with a large Oracle RDBMS database, i.e. in excess of half a terabyte
A good knowledge of implementing and maintaining Oracle applications within the n-tier architecture.
Experience of Oracle RDBMS implementations where the business components at the application tier are developed in Java would be a distinct advantage.
