The Irish Microsoft Technology Conference 2008

The Irish Microsoft Technology Conference (IMTC) is, as the name suggests, a conference accessible to all Microsoft Technology Professionals, Users and interested parties. The conference originally started as a .net conference in 2006, upgraded to a Microsoft Technology Conference in 2007 and this year it has expanded into a three day, eight track, forty session symposium. The conference is co-organised by the Irish Microsoft Technology User Group (MTUG) and First Port jobs. Since its inception as a Microsoft Technology Conference, both Vantage Resources and Microsoft, among others, have sponsored this event - the largest Microsoft Technology community event in the year.

Value for Money
The price includes 3 day access to the event. Your ticket will gain you access not only to your choice of ten sessions from the Conference's forty, but also to the launch night addresses and drinks reception and the after show party on Friday 4th April. Also, each attendee will receive a deli-bag with lots of goodies, food & drink throughout the day and free wi-fi access at Cineworld throughout the conference. Furthermore, the first three hundred participants to register for a ticket online will receive a free copy of the IMTC 2008 DVD.

Speakers / Presenters / Workshops
A number of different Microsoft technologies will be covered in one or more of the sessions, including .net, Sharepoint, ASP, Silverlight, SQL and Biztalk to name but a few. CALLING ALL IRELAND BASED .NET DEVELOPERS!

MULTIPLE VB.Net Developer Contracts, Dublin 7, 6 months (renewable) Public Sector



Fantastic opportunity for experienced VB.Net developers to work on enterprise scale multi tier development environments. These are team-based roles and you will have the opportunity to work with very experienced MS technology developers on leading edge projects. The existing technical environment is centred around .Net framework (with some VB6 components), Sharepoint, Biztalk and Oracle RDB RAC running on multi Unix server platforms.

As an ideal candidate you will need experience covering:
  • 5+ years commercial development experience
  • VB.Net (ideally 2.0 or 1.1) VB6,
  • Crystal Reports (ideally 11 or 8.5)
  • ADO/ADO.net,
  • Visual Studio 2005/ Team Foundation Server
  • Oracle 9i/10g or SQL RDBMS.
  • XML/ Web services
  • Experience of full Project ‘Life Cycle' development
  • Any experience of Sharepoint (ideally 2007)
  • Any experience of Biztalk (ideally 2006)
  • MS Source safe VSS or PVCS
  • PL/SQL &/or T-SQL


Your previous assignments will have been in a multi-tier applications environment using .Net (preferred). Exposure to enterprise scale solutions based around DCOM or COM along with any knowledge of WEB services and usage of XML, XSLD/XSLT will be highly regarded.

Apart from a strong technical ability, solid experience of requirements gathering, design and testing phases will also be required. Any experience in Government or other Public Sector will also be a distinct advantage. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience with a first class MS technology team with a high likelihood of renewal for suitable candidates. This is not one to be missed!
