A financial services client require a RPG developer to work on their AS400/iSeries system for a permanent position based in Dublin South. €35-40K

This role will see you ;

• Provide first-line user support, troubleshooting, problem analysis, diagnosis and resolution for the NOLS application, based on the company's ITIL procedures
• Maintain and develop software for in-house application in accordance with coding standards, ITIL change management procedures and using the company's chosen technical change management tool
• Analyse proposed application changes; ascertain potential impact, document functional and technical requirements, develop test plans
• Actively review standards, procedures and new technologies to ensure best practices are employed within the company's technical environment

Ideally candidates should have;

• Minimum of three years RPG hands-on development experience
• Exposure to OPM and ILE environments, RPG/400, RPG/IV
• Experience with iSeries operating system, CL and SQL
• Experience in analysis, design and development of application systems
• Clear written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies as required

Senior Java/C++ Developers, Dublin City Centre, Contract

An experienced Java/C++ developer is required to work on a client site in Dublin City Centre. Your role will involve designing, developing and testing of new features and components. In collaboration with a group of highly skilled developers you will produce high quality code within tightly managed deadlines. As a developer with proven skills in software engineering you will be expected to provide supporting test frameworks, configuration tools and documentation. Both Java and C++ are used extensively and you will need to have the experience to move seamlessly between both languages.

Skills
Significant experience with C++. Use of Boost and STL is desirable
Good knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate
Experience of central management of a geographically dispersed collection of network devices
Strong scripting abilities in a Linux/UNIX environment (Preferably Python)
Experience with complex designs using abstractions, modularizations, best practice design patterns, and designing reusable system architectures
Knowledge of developing/debugging on UNIX environments, particularly Linux
Knowledge and appreciation of Agile based methods and understanding of full lifecycle development
IP Networking and Quality of Service (QoS) - Cisco IOS and MQC
Experience with at least one Java application server
